Urban Collage Tour

The audio guide Urban Collage Tour has been conceived by Barbara Fässler for a workshop for continuous formation of high school teachers in Switzerland. The workshop, based on an idea of Mathias Picenoni for WBZ (Weiterbildungszentrale) aimed to prepare Swiss Italian teachers for their visit to Expo 2015 and to Milan with their classes. Fässler developed an audioguide for a walk around the Varesine-Isola area for them, where in the last five years a series of huge skyscrapers have been built designed by internationally renowned architects. The gigantic project has provoked resistance in the neighborhood “Isola”, the traditional workers area. The audio guide leads the students via oral instructions from one building to the other, giving them information about the architectural projects and input for photographic research with special compositional tasks and issues to follow.
