Project Week – Colors

The project week allows students and teachers to explore a precise issue for several days, avoiding the continuous interruptions of the regular 40-minute lessons. This time the whole school decided to work on the topic of color and specially the high school students tried out different ways color can manifest itself in time and space. They started with the basics, namely an investigation about pigments. How does the perception of color function and where does the color come from? How can we produce color, what are the necessary ingredients? The students produced their own egg-tempera with pigments and tried to copy the structure of a stone collection by painting a natural study. The students also tried to feel what happens, if you put naked pigments on an object you’ve overwhelmed with glue beforehand or when the painting gesture is translated in an installation around the external space of the school with fabric and transparent colored films.
