Diptyches 2025: about Storm, War and Death

In the series of 3 diptyches, 2025, Barbara Fässler combines in the image on the left, different elements layering one on the other, with the result, that they completely smelt one into the other. Making shine through the singolar layers, they create an ambiguous image, leaving open the interpretation. In the three montages, is integrated a picture of the artists feet, that represents the creator, the viewer, the spectator and with this the subjective aspect of any image. The way, the artist or anyone positions herself in the world, encounters reality. The second image on the right consists of a not elaborated photograph, taken from a close up view.
The three Titles are all quotes from Friedrich Nietzsche. (“Also sprach Zarathustra”, 1883-1885 and “Nachgelassene Fragmente”, 1878.)
